Funded research projects are available for BSc CIS (COMP 495), and Masters
Project (COMP 697-699) / Thesis (COMP 676-680) under the iCORE research
program.

Call for participation: Undergraduate Capstone Open Source Projects
Since September 2008, undergraduates from several universities in Canada
and the US have been taking part in joint capstone projects in order to
learn first-hand what distributed development is like. Each student
registers in a project course at his or her home institution; students are
then put in teams of 4-6 that span several schools to get some hands-on
experience with the working practices used in distributed teams.

SCIS Sadly Announces Death of SCIS Professor, Dr. Peter Holt
It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic death of our
long-term SCIS professor, Dr. Peter Holt in a motor vehicle accident on
Saturday, Nov 21, 2009. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues in the
School of Computing and Information Systems, as well as the entire
university. We extend our condolences to Pete's family and his many
friends. Students being tutored by Dr. Holt will be notified of
alternative arrangements for their courses.
